Normalisation of Bax in the Saudi Kingdom

Bax argues that, "Our aim should be to attain a state of `normalization' in which the technology is invisible and truly integrated" The article talks about the history of CALL which were divided by Warschauer:
·        Communicative
·        Behaviouristic
·        Integrative

I think we don't need a long time to achieve normalization, because people became develop mentally with the development of technology.
I believe that the new generation of teachers will depend on the new teaching methods and they will use technology , Because these teaching methods are easy and do not require effort from the teacher to explain and re-explain the lesson when students do not understand.

Challenges of creating web-based activites in Sally Morrison” Interactive lanaguge Learning on the Web

There are many difficulties for the teachers in creating web-based activity. The first one The teachers have no experience in technology. The second one is how the students access to computers and the problem of the connection speed at which they will be accessing activities. The last one is in creating online activity is disable and special need students they shouldn't be left out.

For me as a Saudi teacher, the first obstacle is that I do not have full knowledge that qualify me for the use of technology, because of that I'm thinking of taking a course to learn more about these things. The second obstacle may be I will face some students do not have the internet, in their homes.

My reflect on Technological Change and the Future of CALL

In my own opinion ttechnology at school means that students are better able to research outside or inside the classroom; they have access to a greater range of instruction; and are able to build skills that will be useful in the work place.  Educators too, have access to resource materials and extra  instructional material previously unavailable and are able to present their material in new and  sometimes very exciting ways.  Let’s look at these advantages in a little more detail.

1- What is Technological determinism?

is a term used to describe a  relationship between technology and society.
* technical logic determines the design of technological systems.
* the development of technological  systems determines broad social changes.

2- What are the ten developments in Information and Communication Technology?

1.The first important change is from phone-based to wireless communication
2. A second change will be a move from dial-up Internet connections to permanent, direct
online connections.
3. A third change will be from the use of mainly personal computers to the use of portable
computing and online devices.
4. A fourth change will be from narrowband  to broadband .
5. A fifth change will be from expensive personal computing systems to widely affordable
computers and other hardware
6. a sixth development is that the Internet will change from being an exclusive
form of communication and information.
7. A seventh development will be a movement from text-based information and
communication to audiovisual forms of information and communication.
8. An eighth change will be from use of English as the main online language to multilingual
Internet use.
9. A ninth change will be from “non-native” to “native” users of information technology.
10. A tenth change will be the movement of CALL from the language laboratory to the
classroom.

3-What is the expected effect on English teaching of these likely future developments?
new contexts, new literacies, new genres, new identities, and new
pedagogies.
